The USENIX Special Interest Group for Sysadmins

Thanks to SAGE Volunteers

SAGE is a Special Interest Group of the USENIX Association. It is governed by the USENIX Board, and its programs are administered by the USENIX staff. From its inception, SAGE has depended heavily on a remarkable cast of volunteers. It was started by a group of San Francisco Bay Area system administrators (Bay-LISA) in early 1992. An organizing group entered into negotiations with USENIX; the original group members were Shoshana Abrass, Tina Darmohray, Arnold deLeon, John F. Detke, Paul Evans, Steve Johnson, Laura Kirk, Bryan McDonald, Paul M. Moriarty, Arch Mott, Bjorn Satdeva, Steve Simmons, Pat Wilson, Ellie Young, and Elizabeth Zwicky.

For many years, SAGE was guided by an Executive Committee. Special thanks go to those Committee members.

The System Administrators' Code of Ethics was created in 2000 by a group headed by Lee Damon and was revised in 2003 by Rob Kolstad, David Parter, the SAGE Executive Committee of 2003, and USENIX staff.
